Cessna Flight Training Centers benefited from his self-earned pilot license through programmed instruction for pilots seeking private, commercial, instrument and multi-engine ratings after studying Broadcast Journalism at The University of Wisconsin where he interfaced community, with businesses & commercial media. Regional Marketing for Bendix Corporation encompassed 12 divisions and subsidiaries in a diverse field of industries included NASA's Apollo thru Skylab III programs with assignments at FMC, ATO, McCann-Erickson, and Chrysler. He helped 78 small and medium sized corporations increase market shares, develop new markets, restructure and increase shareholder earnings. Soviet Leadership asked Gene in Washington to save a failing JV, SofTool USSR '90, a computer application show in Moscow that ultimately was a catalyst forming 15 Republics within 11 months and five days of his appearance before 15,000 scientists and cosmonauts. Assignments engaged him with foreign troops in joint exercises for JCS, CINCLANT, CENTCOM, USAMC, USAR, DESLOG, SECDEF, NGB, SECARMY, MIARNG, USASC, and OASD-RA during Viet Nam to Desert Storm. '70's Recruiting efforts suffered and Captain Zarwell headed a 22 state recruiting effort, its funding and auditing agencies and commands for accountability. bringing unit strengths to 110%. Major Command assignments gave him experience with troop motivation, staging world-wide conferences, security tactics, global tele-conferencing, co-production with top military strategists of military equipment and technology transfers in forming strategic alliances expanding third world economies. His early contributions in 1983 helped formulate actions in an Iraqi theatre cut short by Kwaiti oil tanker escort mission in 1986. Media policies reduced troop risks in combat as in Granada, Kuwait and Iraq - a benefit of Major Zarwell's experienced input to Joint Chief's committees on Public affairs. He supported global operations of Presidents Richard Nixon to George H.W. Bush including failures of Bill Clinton before George W. Bush. Achievements included focus on accountability, command and control successes, strategic planning, diplomatic interfaces with major agencies, while rethinking doctrine, procedures and regulations effecting all seven services and Reserves. |
